I am part of a group of six (three couples) traveling to Spain. We leave next week. Part of out itinerary includes flights into both Madrid & Barcelona. I am looking for your experiences with the AeroCity Minibus shuttle. It looks like an excellent service at a decent price. I am considering other options (e.g. the Metro) but feel that the shuttle is better suited for our group, particularly considering the fact that we will be transporting our luggage. Do these shuttles run on time? Are there additional options for transportation to our hotel that would suit a group of like ours??
I would appreciate any experiences you may have had at these two airports. Thanks
I've traveled a few times to both cities (love Barcelona) and in Madrid I prefer the Metro (€2) and in Barcelona the Aerobus (€4.25). Each are well-marked, easy to find, and easy to use. We were in town in about 20-25 minutes using either service.
There are many other options, such as taxis and private shuttles, but for cost-effectiveness, we like the metro (Madrid) and the Aerobus (Barcelona). You'll find they are on time and highly efficient.
I have been researching the same thing and based on reviews I have read I am probably going with AreoCity for our first transfer from the Madrid airport (we have to go to the airport twice.. once to pick up a car and once to fly home and I expect to Metro it then) My thoughts are that I am most vulnerable when jetlagged and the shuttle seems reasonable. Reviews on other websites have been very positive!
Depending on where you are going in Madrid, you may have to change on the metro. If going to P de Sol which is the center of old Madrid, you make to two metro changes. Another option is the bus to the bus terminal and then a cab. The bus is a 1.10E (Bus # 200, I think) and it takes you to a main terminal just few miles north of the center of Madrid. However, with six people and luggage a van/shuttle probably is a much better option.
