Getting from Madrid Barajas Airport to Atocha Train Station

Hey everyone!

I had a quick question - what is the best way of getting from the Madrid Barajas Airport to the Atocha Train Station by bus? I am planning on flying into Madrid and then taking the AVE train to Seville. How long does it take to get there and how much does it cost?

Thanks for your help!

Just take the metro - It cost 2 Euros and takes about 20-25 minutes if I remember correctly!

I usually take the Metro when coming in from the airport too, but I travel light. There are lots of stairs to cope with, and you'll have to change subway lines twice to get to Atocha. Running time might be closer to 40 minutes to Atocha. If you have more than one carry-on bag, consider a cab....about 20-25 Euro to Atocha from the airport.

Thanks for the time correction Norm... I lived in Madrid 30+ years ago for about 4 years and went back last year for my first visit. I was overwhelmed by the subway system - especially as there wasn't much of a metro back in the day! (Sure puts our "metro" in Rome to shame.....)

We stayed right by Atocha and I guess it did take that long... as excited as I was to get back to Madrid, it didn't seem that long!
