Getting from Lyon Train Station to Nord Train Station

Ops, another wrinkle. I am going from Avignon to london in june. I already have my Eurostar tickets from Paris-Nord to london leaving at 13:01. I was going to reserve my TGV tickets arriving at 10:45, when I noticed it comes into Paris Gare Lyon. how will I get from one to the other? I'm assuming they are both on the metro line. how much time do I need to give so I don't miss my train? (I've never been on these trains so I know nothing about security, lines etc)

You should be at Gare du Nord 30 min before train time. Your ticket should give you the details. By Metro allow about 30 min between Gare Lyon and Gare Nord. Both stations have plenty of places to buy or have lunch. My Metro map indicates you will have to make a connection within the Metro system from one line to another in order to get to Gare Nord. Check a Metro map; they are posted in the stations. You can pick up a free map when you buy your Metro tix.

Take the RER D directly from Gare de Lyon to Gare du Nord. (No change needed.) The ride takes 9 minutes, but you have to allow time to go below ground to the Gare de Lyon RER station, wait for the next train, and return to ground level at Gare du Nord.

thanks. It will be easier without switching lines. Seems like 2 hours and 15 min. should be enough transit time. No?

Make sure you take RER line D in the correct direction. Look for the plastic signs on the walls before the "forks" in the paths. These maps will list upcoming stops. Follow the one that includes Gare du Nord.

When you arrive at the platform, look for a black electronic sign (like this one) hanging from the ceiling. It will have a list of stops. Served stops will be lit. Most trains (if not all) will stop at Gare du Nord. Nevertheless, make sure Gare du Nord is on the sign :) It will confirm whether that you are on the right platform.

I can't stress this enough. There are NO STOPS within the city limits in the other direction. Boarding the wrong train will take you to a Parisian suburb.
