We’re going to London tomorrow (first time) I was looking on the rome2rio site for transportation options and it gives a couple good options. We’re staying at Northumberland Ave. we’ll have 2 people with large suitcases. Not sure of which is easier, 1) Train, subway 2)-Subway or 3) Train. Thanks for any tips!
My suggestion would be the Elizabeth line to Tottenham Court Road, and then the Northern line to Charing cross.
Also, avoid Rome2rio and use https://tfl.gov.uk instead.
Even easier, and barely any longer in journey time is the Piccadilly line to Acton Town, Hammersmith or Barons Court, then across the platform at any of those three for a District line train to Embankment.
You never see the change at Acton Town mentioned on this forum- only Hammersmith and Barons Court.
It kind of depends a bit on how close to Trafalgar Square on Northumberland Avenue you are, it's much of a muchness between Charing Cross and Embankment
Equally you could change off the Elizabeth line at Ealing Broadway onto the District Line to Embankment.
In London the subway is called the underground or the tube. If you ask for the subway people are more likely to think you are asking for a well known Sandwich chain!!
