getting from Heathrow to Gatwick for a connecting flight

what is the best way to get from LHR to Gatwick if you have a connecting flight (without having to do to many transfers with your luggage)

There is a bus connection. Takes about an hour. Allow about an hour and half in case you just miss the bus.
