getting from Gatwick to the Eurostar... help!

My destination is Paris. I'm flying into Gatwick. I'm planning to take the Eurostar. But how do I get from Gatwick to the Eurostar station? And if you have any advice on how to get cheap tickets on the Eurostar or on the bus/train whatever takes me there... please let me know! I'm 25, so I'm still a youth. :-)

Kendal here it is: When you land at Gatwick and after you go through customs head for the train station which is next to the airport.Signs will direct you. Buy a ticket for Victoria Station. The Gatwick Express goes directly to Victoria station and leaves about every 30 min. You can buy a ticket or see the schedule at the Rail Europe website. When you get to Victoria Staion you'll need to get to Waterloo station where the Eurostar leaves. I suggest take a taxi rather than use the tube or subway. It is a long walk from the tube stop at Waterloo to the Eurostar platform and with any luggage it will be tiresome. A taxi is only slightly more expensive and will take about 15-20 min depending on time of day. The taxi will let you off at the Eurostar check in, which will have a long line and security may be tight.Just to be safe, I'd allow about 2.5-3 hours from the time you deplane to stand in line at Eurostar. Good luck.

Kendal, alternatively from the Gatwick train station take the train to Clapham Junction. From there take train to Waterloo Station. From there you'll have to walk to Waterloo International, which can take up to 30mins. But this connection is cheaper as you don't have to pay extra for the express train and won't need a taxi.

I second that
we had to do it the other way...the clapham junction and it was the best alternative...quick easy, cheap and no worries about cabs and the tube.

Since Clapham Junction is a huge station, an even better route is to take a First Capital Connect train to London Bridge, walk to the other side of the platform, and take a Southeastern train to Waterloo East. Then walk to Waterloo International. Time: one hour. Cost: 10 GBP.
