Getting from DB/Fernbahnhof to Airline Check-in at FRA Terminal 1

Does anyone how to get from the Fernbahnhof to Terminal 1/Level 2 for Continental Airlines check-in at the Frankfurt airport?

Lufthansa's map of the airport says the Fernbahnhof is on Level 3. The airport's website map doesn't list a level for the Fernbahnhof but another page on the site sayd there's a connecting bridge (or something) from the long-distance trains to Level 3.

I've only been in the Frankfurt airport twice, and only have experience with the regional trains.

Thanks!

Follow the signs.

More specifically, from the uppermost level of the Fernbahnhof, the level with the ticket counter, there is a hallway, part of which is the enclosed bridge over the Autobahn, part of which goes through the building across the street from Terminal 1. Then, at the same level, there is another bridge over the access road in front of Terminal 1, coming into Terminal 1 to the mezzanine above the departures hall of the Terminal. There are escalators from the mezzanine to the floor of the departures hall.

Better question is, is the Continental check-in in Terminal 1 or in Terminal 2?

Thanks for the quick responses Steve and Lee.

Continental check-in is in Terminal 1, Hall B, Desks 670-675. The flights to Houston depart from Gates A56 or A57 which are on Level 3.

I think what happens is the ICE train from Brussels arrives on level 3, but we have to go down to level 2 to check luggage, then back up to level 3 to get to our gate.

Elaine, the Fernbahnhof is a ways away from Terminal 1. The way between them is at level 3, but the train will come in at level 1. There are escalators from there to level 3. I'm not exactly sure what is on level 2, I've never been there, the lounge, I think. Anyway, go up to level 3, down the hall and across the pedestrian bridge over the access road into Terminal 1 at level 3, then down the escalator to the check in desk on level 2. After that, I don't remember going up another level to the gate, but I don't think I've ever left from Concourse A. Just follow the signs.

"The way between them is at level 3, but the train will come in at level 1."

I knew there was a missing link. Thanks Lee!

I'm sure it will all make sense when you see it. Meanwhile, I have a "map" of the train stations on my website. If gives you a side view that might help.

Ebene is "level"; Abflughalle is "departure hall".

There is a check-in desk on your right as you head out of the Fernbahnhof, but I think it's only for Lufthansa.

It is just a Lufthansa check-in counter. WAY convenient if you're flying Lufthansa, but not if you're going with Continental.

Like Lee said, you'll go over the bridge, then down to level 2. There's lots of signs.

Lee - Brilliant. That's exactly the view I needed.

Maureen - Between your post and Lee's map my final question has been aswered: Go down to Level 2 to check-in at Continental.

Many thanks, everyone.
