I am traveling from Karlsruhe-Baden to Rome on Sat. Oct 4. It is my 11 year old daughter and myself - we are staying at the Hotel am Markt and I have emailed them regarding transportation but would like the least expensive direct route to the airport.

Use the Bahn query page. Put in from "Baden-Baden Bahnhof" and to "Flughafen Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden". There are 26 minute bus connections, that make 14 stops between the Bahnhof and the Flughafen. Looks like the fare is €2,50 for an adult, €1,20 for a child 6-14.
Both the schedule and fare are available on the KVV (Karlsruher VV) website, www.kvv.de, but only in German.
