Does anyone have any suggestions for an expedient way to get from Athens to Croatia? We need a way to move about 14 people. Thanks. KSB

Wow, 14 people. First, it is unusually difficult to get between the two. The reason I think is several factors: 1. You are travelling between an EU and Non-EU country (so cheap flights are limited or non existant) 2. Both are tourist/Holiday destinations, even for the Europeans and in competition (So no reason for efficient, direct travel between them) 3. The Balkan region has been historically unstable, and in the way are Albania and Macedonia. The choices come down to: 1. Ferry, none direct, basically Patras, Greece to Bari, Italy, to Croatia..Two Nights of travel. 2. Budget air in the same mode...Cheap flight to Italy, Germany, even London; then into Croatia. 3 Train: Round-about way, up through Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovnia and into Croatia. Flying, if connections are right is faster, a budget airline may even do a group rate.

I think we've decided to take the flying to London and back to Croatia route. It seems like the least expensive and easiest. I didn't consider the EU to non-EU possibility. Anyway, we'll get there somehow!!
