Getting around inside Schiphol Airport

I am arriving at Schipol on Delta at about 7:30am - then I have an EasyJet flight at 9:55am to Madrid. How difficult is it to navigate this airport going from arrivals to departures?? How many checkpoints am I going to have to go thru to get to the EasyJet flight after getting my luggage(only 1 bag)?? Any help would be appreciated

As Easyjet doesn't do transfers of checked bagged from other airlines, it's essential you just do carry ons, so you don't have to exit the airport to collect your baggage and reenter. This will mean going through immigration twice:( If you just do carry ons, it's easy to navigate. Schipol has just one giant terminal building with a single corridor connecting the various "wings". After you deboard you transatlantic flight simply look for you gate number on the monitors and follow the signs. On the way to the gate you will have to pass through immigration, after that there is a security check near the gate. Also be aware of the risk involved with connecting to a discount airline. If you miss your Easyjet flight for any reason, your tickets are worthless, and you'll have to pay big bucks to get a new ticket.

Also assuming you are travelling with carry-on. We have been through Schiphop fifteen or sixteen times, the last being about twenty months ago. We are 71 and 64. The concourses are long and have horizontal escalators. Get on them and walk fast to the center of the terminal. Signage is excellent. We have always stopped at the booking desk in the terminal's center and gotten a new boarding pass at the desk. This is essential because you may walk all the way out another concourse and have to come back and do it. Just follow the signs, Get your new boarding pass, Walk fast. Security may have changed, but on aol our trips there has been a security post set up at the exit gate we were leaving from. A group of security people show up, set up the interview stands, baggage radar, and the walk-through machine. Each person or couple is interviewed, screened and passed into a boarding seating area. Its here you can use the toilet and fill your water bottle. You can get a map of the terminal online also.

2+ hours should be okay, assuming your flight is on time and you are carrying on. If this is your first stop in the Schengen zone, you will also have to go through passport control, which doesn't take long in itself, but can be slower if there is a big rush (there was no one there when I was there).

like has been stated. a large well signed and well designed airport. you will be fine either way, even if you had to go through passport control multiple times. i have been through maybe 10-12 times, only kobenhaven seems more organized. have fun, be safe.
