Germany railpass questions

I will be in Germany for two weeks in early February and am looking into purchasing a railpass. Could anyone please explain the difference between first class and second class tickets? Is first class worth the price difference? Also, can you reserve a seat when you purchase a railpass? Thanks for your help!!

Generally, first class seats have more room and bigger seats. They have fewer seats in each car and are quieter. However, second class is very comfortable. The difference between classes is much less extreme on trains than on planes.

Most German trains do not require reservations. However, if you will be traveling during a peak period (rush hour, weekend), reservations are recommended. They must be purchased separately from the rail pass.
