Germany + Austria tour by train... Railpass?

Hi! I'm planning to tour around Germany for 3 weeks, following almost the same route as the Rick Steves' Germany & Austria best 3 week trip... except I'm trying to manage it by train.
I will be going to the following cities:
-Frankfurt
-Cologne / Bonn / Koblenz / St. Goar
-Bacharach
-Baden Baden
-Freiburg
-Reutte
-Vienna
-Munich
-Rothenburg
-Nürnberg
-Dresden
-Prague
-Berlin
As you can see, there are very few differences from the "real tour"... and I'm having a lot of trouble trying to decide wether to use some train pass (and which, and how) or to buy point-to-point tickets. I will be going alone, and I'm 27 years old.
In addition to that, I have absolutely NO IDEA as to how I will get from Freiburg to Reutte, since I can't find any route!
Can I have some advise on these, please?
Thanks!!

Does the "-" between towns really represent a day of travel? You appear to have a lot of short travel days. That usually doesn't lend itself to efficient use of a rail pass. You would probably be better off using p2p tickets and availing youself of some of the discount prices of the Bahn.

To find schedules, learn to use the German Rail query page.

As for Freiburg to Reutte, if you just put in those two points (from/to), the Bahn website will show you the fastest routes, which go back down the Rhein to Karlsruhe or Mannheim by Express (ICE/IC/EC), then through Ulm to Reutte, or, by regional train, through the Schwäbisch Jura to Ulm. That might be the fastest, but I wouldn't call that the most scenic. I would favor a route from Freiburg to Donaueschingen (via Titisee) to Singen, or via Basel and Schaffhausen (Switzerland) to Singen, then along the north shore of Lake Konstanz through Friedrichshafen and Lindau. That way might take and extra hour or two, but would be much more interesting. That way uses regional trains, so you could use a Baden-Württemberg-Ticket (€19) and a Bayern-Ticket (€19) for your travel.

To determine whether city-to-city tickets or a railpass (and which pass) would be best, go to the website www.railsaver.com and put in the travel information. You'll get a recommendation. I've used the site often when deciding which pass to buy.
