Germanwings: flight time schedule change

We are a party of three who purchased one-way flights on Germanwings last week on Fri Jan 20th for (17 May 2012) travel from Split, Croatia to Cologne-Bonn, Germany. There are 6 flights/wk (1/day - varied DEP times) offered in shoulder season month of May. We just received a notice 79.5 hours later (this past Tues Jan 24) that this 8:30-10:25 flight has been changed to 13:15-15:10 on the same day "due to operational reasons"
Next flight after that is Fri evening, too late. We originally planned to continue on by train to Amsterdam for arrival by 17:25. Now, we would be arriving closer to 20:25. We have the option to "click to okay the time change" or call customer service to discuss other options. (as an aside, Germanwings offer customer service numbers for many countries but not U.S. We assume we would need to call the phone number given for the U.K. as that would be English-speaking service?) There is another flight on Germanwings from Split to Dortmund, Germany at 10:50-12:35 on the same morning (May 17) . There are 3 flights/wk (1/day) offered from Dortmund. Again, we would continue by train to Amsterdam arriving at 17:25. This is acceptable to us because we prefer an earlier flight but, now, are wary that the Dortmund flight could change down the line, as well, especially with less flights available. We have flown low cost airlines many times with ease although we have not flown Germanwings before. We would appreciate comments from anyone who may have had this experience with Germanwings or may have thoughts on best way to research a best-case scenerio? Due to limited low cost airline flight availability during shoulder season from Split, Croatia, we found no option to get direct flight to Amsterdam. Eileen, San Diego
