German regional train fares?

What are the train fares : Cochen to Moselkern (Burg Eltz Castle) & St Goar to Bacharach & St Goar to Bingen
We are staying in Cochen 2 days and St Goar 2 days and I couldn't find what the train fares would be.

Cochem to Moselkern is a local network ticket governed by zones in the VRM, Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Mosel.
http://www.vrminfo.de/en/timetable/
This is a 4-zone trip, so a 1-way ticket is 4.70 EUR per person. If you want to travel a bit more, you can buy a ticket for the entire VRM network for up to 5 people traveling together for 22.10 EUR, travel after 9 am weekdays for the rest of the day. That includes trains to St Goar. Travel all day on weekends.

The others cross network boundaries. Fares at www.bahn.com

the fares are not shown on bahn. What would the fares be at the stations?

Gee, I am finding 3.90 EUR for St Goar to Bacharach and 6.60 EUR for St Goar to Bingen (Rhein) Stadt.

I found the tariff zone map on vrminfo.de but can't find out how much it cost per zone.

Download the "Preistafel_2017". Individual tickets are listed in the top row "Einzelfahrschein".

Your other question: I go to www.bahn.com (enter), next page click on "English", next page you enter "From" and "To" cities, date of travel, and desired time, then click on "Search", voila, a list of three trains with times, changes if any, and price. You click on earlier or later departures to see more. The direct RB trains will be the lowest price.

St Goar to Bingen (Rhein) Stadt.

On what site?

Those fares would be on the Bahn site. St. Goar (as well as Cochem and Moselkern) is in one VV, Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Mosel, and Bacharach and Bingen are in another VV, Rhein-Nahe-Nahverkehrsverbund (RNN). The Bahn can sell tickets between Verkehrsverbünde.

I have found the St Goar to Bacharach & St Goar to Bingen fares on vrminfo.de
But looking on bahn.com for Cochem to St Goar for fares to says "fares not available"

That is because both Cochem and St Goar are within the VRM, so therefore it is a network ticket. From the Preistafel_2017, the maximum "Einzelfahrschein" ticket is 11.50 EUR, so that is the fare. If there are two of you and you traveled after 9 am on a weekday (or any time weekend), you could buy a "Minigruppenkarte" for 22.10 EUR and save yourself 0.90 EUR.

I give up! When I go to vrminfo.de I can't find (in German or English) Preistefel 2017 or Einzelfurschein.
I was just trying to find prices because I know they can differ depending on what time you travel. We have 5 days in the area, Day 1 train Amsterdam to Cochem, day 2 spend in Cochem & Eltz castle, day 3 & 4 stay in St Goar, visit other towns by train & boat on Rhine from Bingen , day 5 early train from St Goar to Frankfurt airport. Would this be enough train travel for a pass for 2 or just buy at the station.

I have found the St Goar to Bacharach & St Goar to Bingen fares on
vrminfo.de

Really. Whenever I put in St. Goar to anywhere outside of the VRM (Bacharachor Bingen) on the VRM website I get "Tarifauskunft nicht möglich", "fare information not possible". Are you sure it's vrm-info and not Bahn.de.

But looking on bahn.com for Cochem to St Goar for fares to says "fares
not available".

Because it's within the VRM and the Bahn does not give fare for travel within the VRM (except if it's by long distance train, IC/EC or ICE). Again, Cochem and St. Goar are both in the VRM.

I can see the price table on vrminfo but it doesn't mean a thing to me because I can't read German. Thanks anyway.

The top row shows Einzelfahrschein, Single Ticket Price, read across the the number of zones. Moselkern is 3 zones away, so including the starting zone, it is a 4-zone trip, 4.70. Keep reading across and the price tops out at 11.50 at greater than 10 zones, so that is the maximum single ticket price for anywhere in the network, whether it is 11 or 20.

Ignore the 3 rows below, they are for children, people with Bahn discount cards, and people with local network Mobil passes.

Next 3 rows in green "Freizeit Tickets", first row is "Tageskarte" Day Pass, you see that tops out at 18,80, so that means you can travel anywhere in the network all day for 18.80. Second row is a 3-Day Pass and it tops out at 37.60, meaning basically, buy 2 days, get 1 free. Third row is the " Minigruppekarten" Small Group Day Pass, the *** indicates the note on the side saying up to 5 people traveling together beginning after 9 am weekdays, anytime weekends. This one tops out a 22.10, so up to 5 people can travel all day anywhere in the network after 9 am weekdays.

All the rest are weekly and monthly tickets, student tickets, 60+ monthly tickets, 1st class weekly and monthly tickets.

I hope I've finally understand! The 3 day pass is 37.60 for 1 person. The small group day pass (really 1 1/2 days) 22.10 for up to 5 people & good until 3pm the next day. Both are only good for travel after 9am. THANKS!!!

The 3-day pass is good for 3 calendar days without restriction as to time. The Minigroup ticket is good for the day from 9 am (on weekdays) until the last train or bus of the day, not until 3 pm the following day.

Most day passes (but not all) in Germany are restricted to after 9 am weekdays. Keeps the leisure travelers off the trains during the morning commute, or at least from using a discount. Afternoon commute does not seam to be an issue.
