german rail pass prices

Anybody buy a rail pass (promo 2nd class twin 7 day flexi) on bahn.com or purchase one at a german rail station lately? Bahn.com and their service center have not been in my favor towards completing this purchase online. The price on bahn.com is 326euro with 3.9 shipping fee, which is a great price! RailEurope and the like are charging $400+ along with $18 shipping; I'd rather just buy the tickets in Frankfurt (at the airport or at the Hbf?) but I'm worried about the day-of prices. Regular non-promo for 2nd class twin 7 day flexi looks to be 404euro on bahn.com

When and where are you going? I assume you're flying into Frankfurt Int'l? There's two train stations in the airport, one for local transportation and one for long-distance trains.

Not so with the $18 shipping charge. I order a Pass on-line and never have I had to pay for shipping...always free.

It's not unusual to have some issues with the rail pass ordering feature through Bahn.com; I've heard several negative reports, including some in this Forum. As well, their delivery by regular mail is not tracked nor timeframe guaranteed, so paying for UPS delivery to US street addresses is a safer bet. Rail Europe's purchase threshold to qualify for free shipping is currently a bit higher than what you plan to spend. However, since the offer originates in Germany, I would not anticipate any problem to buy it at either Frankfurt train station by Dec. 10.
