What to do on a Sunday in Genoa from 9a-5p?
Its not a city I would choose to visit again, but if I had those hours to kill I would probably have a nice long brunch in a lovely restaurant, take a few walks and do some window shopping. Maybe go to church?
I'm being nosie, are you confined to Genoa for any particular reason?? Borrow 20 euro's catch a 45-60 minute train ride to Santa Margerita Ligure, walk around the water, and if water taxi is affordable go to Portifino and as Rick says, see what the fuss is all about. Find a little place that serves Italian "tapas" and have fun. Check the train schedules for Sunday to see if this is doable. Just a thought! Go to Nice/Monaco. I also heard rumors that they had "live Honkie-tonk music" in SML, similar to Nashville. Maybe embellishing a little?
Tommy We have spent 3 days in Genova before a cruise. We just wandered the whole city from the harbor to the fashion district. There is a market along the water front that you can buy a variety of fresh food. The aquarium is quite good. There are harbor tours as well as walking tours. We came across Christoper Columbus house, some gardens and churches. We took the train to the Cinque Terra for the day. It takes about 90 mins to get there.
Have fun.
