I purchased tickets online for the TGV from Geneve to Paris. Having never been to Europe before, I'm wondering how early I should plan for us to arrive at the train station in Geneve? Also, do you know if we need to bring anything besides the email pdf confirmation (says it is not a valid ticket) and our passports? I assume we pick up the actual tickets at the station. Thanks!

The Geneva main station (there is another small one for French local trains a little out of the centre but its not too easy to find and I would be surprised if you wound up there by accident) is quite small. There's no security, just find the train on the departure board (just like in Rick's video) and wander down to the platform. Find your car, pop on, and find your seat. Some TGVs will start at Geneva but many start at the Airport and Geneva is the second stop. Some trains also start in Lausanne. If you find your train on the bahn website and click the > button and click on the train number it will tell you the whole route of the train with its origination station and all stops. You may want to visit a shop before departure and grab a little nosh for the journey. Allowing all that, 15 minutes before departure should be fine. 30 if you are nervous.
Nigel, Thank you for the info! We will be taking a train earlier that same day from Montreux to Geneve. Do you suppose that train arrives in Geneve at the smaller train station, or the same one that the TGV departs from? How can I tell? I was thinking of purchasing the tickets from Montreux to Geneve in advance on the sbb.ch website--all it says is just "Geneve," so do you know how I can tell which train station it is? Thanks!

There is no direct TGV service from Geneva Airport to Paris, nor do the Lausanne TGV trains to Paris stop at Geneva en route. All TGV trains to Paris from Geneva main station originate at Geneva main station.
