It is almost time for me to travel. I have said that I cross every t and dot every i and then everything goes wrong anyways.

The U S government looks like it is going to be shutting down and it is going to be affecting air travel.

Apparently this new strain of Covid is extremely communicable. I am getting my flu shot and latest Covid booster on Thursday.

Yes, a lot of people are catching this new strain but they do not seem to be getitng terribly sick, more like a flu or bad cold.

I am getting my shots on Thursday and i know I will not be feeling well on Friday.

I am leaving for London early October and have so much to do.

I will try to do light things like printing out documents or making phone calls saying goodby for now and reporting travel or asking travel questions.

Had take my 5 vaccines, my 5th in October of last year and never had Covid. Went to Japan in June for 2 weeks, got back at the end of June and didn’t get sick (didn’t wear a mask). Then, in early August, I got Covid for the first time and it was hard (body ache, chills, migraines, etc) and lasted for two weeks, but lingering longer. Now, I have gotten comfortable not warring a mask like everyone else which makes this a more complex situation.

I’m currently in a tiny airport in PA heading to Newark then onto the west coast. I’m the only one wearing a mask. Several friends and family are currently ill with Covid. I wonder if the curtailing of flights in London will have any effect in not just considering Covid to be just a “cold”? Probably not!

A bunch of us on an expat forum here in France have reported the same C symptoms: including the sore throat and fever, some have seen the doctor, but all of us keep testing negative on a PCR.
Who knows? We can’t figure it out. Masks aren’t a bad idea these days.

Concerned local, the shingles vaccine had the worst and longest duration side effects of any vaccine I have ever had so good that you are not combining all of them:)

Bets, yes masks are again a good idea! The real unknown continues to be what are the long term effects of multiple Covid infections; not likely to be as simple as multiple colds. And still preferable to not get sick while on a lovely (and expensive) trip.

The airport have confirmed today that this level of cancellations will continue for a further 2 weeks, due to ongoing shortages of air traffic controllers.
