We need to stay one night by the Gatwick airport when we fly in from the US. Any suggestions? Want to find a place that has a shuttle from the airport. Do I need to reserve ahead of time? What if our flight is delayed and I need to cancel, would I be able to get a refund? Thanks

If you google Gatwick hotels you will get a huge list. The Ibis Gatwick has shuttle service to the airport. I do think you should reserve ahead of time. How late do you think your flight could possibly be that you would need to cancel? Anyway, you should ascertain the cancellation policy with whichever hotel you book with.

The Gatwick Express train runs non-stop from Victoria Station to the airport in about 30 minutes, all day long starting about 5:00 AM. Why not enjoy one last night in London Town and worry about the airport in the morning? We took this express train from Victoria for a 10 AM departure from Gatwick...smooth as can be.

We recently stayed at the Mercure Hotel. Shuttle availble, I think it was 3 GBP each way. The lobby needs some work, but our room was fine. Booked it with dinner included and the dinner and breakfast were both very good. I think their cancellation policy was by 6pm of the day, but am not certain.

We always stay here when we have to overnight at Gatwick. Excellent breakfasts and great free shuttle service to and from Gatwick Airport.
