Which train station is better in terms of ease and crowd in the morning? We can travel to both with Gare du Nord being further away for us. Need this info to book our tickets to London. Thank you!
The trains to London (i.e. the Eurostar) leave from Gare du Nord only. It is the only station for departures to London.
Thank you Norma. I realized it when I could progress further in my booking. I have another question now. How far apart is Gare du Nord and Gare de Lyon. There is a change/connection (from Gare du Nord to Gare de Lyon) for the train from London-Aix EP in Paris. Would it be better to change at Lille given a choice.
Not all Eurostar trains from London to Paris stop at Lille. You'll have more departure times from which to choose if you change trains in Paris. You can take the RER D directly from Gare du Nord to Gare de Lyon. Trains run about every 8 minutes and the ride takes 8 minutes. The fare is €1.70.
No London to Paris Eurostar train currently stop at Lille - but all the trains to/from Brussels do.
My mistake here. The train from London-Aix EP have either a change in Lille or Paris. So if I choose to change/connect in Paris, I need to take the train from gare du nord to Gare de Lyon to catch my train to Aix. Thank you all for your help! A few more things to sort out and then I'm good to go!
For this week the Eurostar site lists 11 weekday departure times for London-Paris with a stop in Lille.
