Gare du Nord: Approx Taxi cost into town?

I know the metro will be most economical, but I am wondering what the approximate cost would be to take a taxi into the Latin Quarter/Arrondissment 5. We might want the convenience with luggage et al. We are a party of 3…2 who have not traveled Europe at all — so just the introduction to how much walking, up/down the metros or tube, I want to get an 'idea' if this might be one day we splurge. I am guessing around $75. Am I close?

Not even. Twenty bucks, a bit less maybe.

Well Gare du Nord is already "in town" . Its only about 3 miles from the center of the 5th.

The taxi is much more convenient than carrying luggage through the Metro. I've done both.

If you are looking for a reliable local minicab company you can try http://cabreviews.co.uk/islington and choose only from the best taxi companies in London. It sure helped me. You can even leave a review or share your experience that you've had with any cab company, good or bad. Hope this helps.
