We are going to be there in a week and I just realized that auxiliary romantic road bus service from Rothenberg to Heidelberg does not start until May. What is my best option?

Jamie - If you're talking about the Romantic Road Europabus EB190, it looks like it changed its schedule to begin in late May. You can check out www.bahn.de. There are train options as well as bus/train options with 2-4 changes.

Also, remember to type in the correct spelling when searching the train schedule...Rothenburg ob der Tauber.
