Full day tour from Paris to London

I would love to take a full day trip from Paris (home base) to London, but looking through all of the websites, which is best? I would like to take advantage of a full day's tour in order to see the most possible. Has anyone taken a tour like this? Does anyone have any suggestions? How far in advance does this have to be booked? I'll be arriving in Paris on the 6th...thanks!

Rick's Paris guidebook has an entire chapter dedicated to doing the London day trip efficiently.
Book your Eurostar train ticket in advance via the www.eurostar.com. You will arrive at Waterloo Station which just a block away from the London Eye. From there it's another short walk across the Thames to Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, and Buckingham Palace. All other attractions depending on your interests, are just a short ride away via the Underground or the hop on-off tourist buses. Since you have never been to London before, I strongly recommend you use the tourist buses. The underground is great, but it will take a while for you to learn the transit system. It's not worth it for just a day visit.

As Michael says, you can easily do this on your own. Take the first Eurostar to London and the last one back to Paris. Take one of the hop-on hop-off bus tours, either www.bigbus.co.uk or www.the originaltour.com. Buy a ticket when you get to London. If you want to go someplace not covered by the tour bus route, buy a one-day zone 1-2 travelcard at any tube station. Here's a link to two maps that you can print, a tube map and a central London bus map that shows the location of major tourist attractions: http://tinyurl.com/25p633.
