I'm taking the ferry from Helsinki to Tallinn, and I need to fly on Ryan Air from Riga to Stansted UK. So, what is the best way to go from Tallinn to Riga? I (and ,my 24 year old son) have one, maybe two days to do this.

As of when I last researched this topic two years ago, the websites for the national rail carriers in the Baltics were primitive to nonexistant. All three capitals are linked by rail, however. Even if you can't book the rail tickets before you leave, you should have no problem buying tickets at the stations.
Another option is bus travel. However, the highway system is rudimentary, so this expect bus travel to be quite a bit slower than rail.

This is very easy to do - use Eurolines (you can get info on their website). We did this same route about 4-5 years ago. If memory serves me right, you can book the tickets in town but the bus leaves from near the port. Can't remember how long it took but was less than 6 hrs.
