I am remaining in Italy beyond final date of my tour (Sept. 26) for 5 days in Sorrento. Need to return to Naples on October 1 for travel back to US. Sorrento is 2 hours away and I have early flight. Is it wise to stay in Naples night before rather than rushing and, if so, is the Hotel Chiaia (on the tour)recommended? Otherwise, what are my commute options between Sorrento and Naples and reliability of timing?

There is regular bus service from Sorrento to the Naples airport. Fare is 10Euro. Unfortunately, the first bus departs at 6:30 and arrives at 8:00am. If your flight is 9:30am or later, this bus can work. If not, you have two choices. Take a taxi or spend the night very near the airport.

You can also take the Circumvesuviana Train to Naples and the Airport bus from the train station to the airport. We did this a few weeks ago and it was very easy.
