Arriving into Ravenna by cruise ship. Need to get to the VCE airport for the flight back to USA. Any suggestions?
Also need a hotel at the VCE.

What time your boat docks and what time your flight it is ( and where it goes) would be helpful info so folks could offer suitable suggestions for a hotel.

Boat will dock at 6am May 3rd our flight leaves May 4th so have the entire day to get to the airport.

FlixBus goes from Ravenna at 8:45, arriving at Venice Tronchetto at 11:50. https://www.rome2rio.com/map/Ravenna/Venice#r/Bus/s/0
If your flight is not terribly early the next day, I would stay in Venice, not near the airport. You’ll have plenty of time to see some of the gorgeous city. Even if you just take the Vaporetto along the Grand Canal.

Most take the local bus downtown from the port to the train station.
A train will take you about halfway to Bologna and you get off the train. The next train that comes by will take you all the way to Venice. Sorry I forget the name of the town where you transfer.
It's an easy trip.

Not that Rome2rio would know about it, but the flixbus does not run every day of the week. That also seems like a tight connection for getting off the ship.
Whereas the train, changing at Ferrara, is basically hourly. So train is far better, no rushing round. No worry about if the ship is late for any reason, or having to self disembark.

Thank you all for your information.
I did write the tourism office of Ravenna. They also recommended the train. The bus doesn't go everyday so that is not an option.
Been to Venice several times before and flight leaves early so easier to stay at airport.

It sounds like you already bought your airfare? If you did not I would take the train from Ravenna to Bologna (about an hour and 15 minute trip) and fly from there. Bologna's train station is connected to the airport by a direct light rail type service.
