We are traveling to Liverpool from London and then back to London. We saw that there were trains but are unable to figure out the times and if a train would run very early on a Wednesday from Liverpool to get us to the London airport by 9:00am.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Karleen Martucci
The NationalRail website is the one you need. There's a 3:37 AM departure that in theory could get you to Heathrow Terminals 2 and 3 at 8:25 AM, but that's after 3 transfers and a short ride on the Underground. I can't imagine doing something so incredibly risky with a flight in the offing--especially if it's an international flight.
Instead, I'd head back to London the night before. There are departures from Liverpool at 6:47 PM and 7:47 PM. The respective Heathrow arrival times are 10:10 PM and 11:10 PM. There are earlier trains as well. If you want to spend the night in downtown London rather than out at Heathrow, the trip would be somewhat shorter.
Thank you for the information. I thought it would be too much in one day.
There is no way that you should be so far from the airport and reliant on public transport on your departure day. Trains often get delayed or cancelled.
If you’re flying out of London, regardless of the airport, you want to be in London on that day.
Where’s the flight to? If it’s a European flight, Liverpool has an airport as does Manchester. Manchester is a major international airport if you’re doing a long haul flight, although I would still want to be in Manchester the morning of a long haul.
Thanks everyone for the responses. I think I have it figured out. Have a wonderful day!
