From London Heathrow to Harwich Cruise Port

Hello there,
Does anyone have any suggestions for the most direct and economical way of getting from Heathrow to the Harwich Cruise Terminal?

Not sure about MOST direct and economical. For our cruises we always go in a day or two earlier. From London it is easy to get to Harwich via train from Liverpool station. The last time we did it, they actually had a cruise ship special fare and the train stops right by the dock. Not more than a 30 yard walk to the ship. Most economical would be to take the tube to Liverpool. Without checking the schedule, I think you would have to make one train change getting to Liverpool and probably an hour and half from Heathrow and an another two hours to Harwich. A little quicker and more expensive would be the HRow Express to Paddington and a short taxi ride to Liverpool. Probably save 30 to 45 minutes.

Here's the Tube route: Take the Piccadilly Line from LHR to Holborn. Transfer to the Central Line and take it to Liverpool Street (not Liverpool). Time: 1hr5min. Fare: £4.00.

Take National Express East Anglia trains to Harwich (one change at Manningtree). Trains leave once an hour at two minutes past the hour. Time: 1hr45min. Fare: £28.60. See the Journey Planner at www.nationalrail.co.uk.
