From Latin Quarter to CDG aiport Paris

My flight is at 7:30 am. The landlady offers to drive me to the airport, at the charge of 70 euro (60 is her normal rate plus 10 more for the early hour). So that's a hundred bucks right there. Is there another way for me to get to the airport so early in the mornig, safe, reliable, but cheaper? I'll be staying in Paris near the St. Michel Metro.

We also left Paris too early to use a taxi or the train. We used Golden Air shuttle service, which is listed in Rick Steves' book. Their website is www.paris-airport-shuttle-limousine.com/ We paid 17 euro a piece for two of us. I am not sure what the charge is for one person, but it will be less than 70 euro! You can get a special rate if you say you heard about them from Rick Steves.

Although you'll be close to the St-Michel Notre-Dame RER station, the first B train doesn't pass through there until 05:24. However, the earliest B train leaves from Gare du Nord at 04:56 and arrives at CDG 1 at 05:28 and at CDG 2 TGV at 05:30. Be aware that that the B line divides northeast of Paris so be sure you get on a train that is going to CDG. The cost is 8.10 EUR. Either take a taxi to Gare du Nord or ask your landlady what she would charge.

We often have the same problem. Our soultion is to stay at an inexpensive hotel at CDG the night before we have an early flight. Ibis hotel (Ibis #1404) is at the RER B station. The free shuttle bus to the terminals is a one minute walk from the Ibis front door, and the shuttle bus starts very early.
