My flight is around 2 pm in the afternoon at Amsterdam airport. However, I would like to go to Haarlem for a personal business(it may take about two hours) at the ABN bank in Haarlem. if I am leaving from Helmond in the early morning taking a train, is that realistic?
I checked the train schedule and it seems that not train goes from Helmond to Haarlem. Any one can help me out?
Where are you looking? At the website of the Dutch Railways http://www.ns.nl/en/journeyplanner/#/ you'll find a quarter-hourly connection to Haarlem; for example a 7.19 which - with two changes - will bring you in Haarlem at 9.12. The 11.32 will get you with one change from Haarlem to Schiphol at 12.00, on time for your flight.
There are plenty of trains that get you from Helmond to Haarlem with 2 changes, Eindhoven and Amsterdam. The first train leaves right before 6 AM and the journey takes about 2.5 hours getting you there at 8:30. You'll need to do the math and check things like when does the bank in Haarlem open? You will need to be at the airport by 11 if this is an international flight. Personally, I wouldn't do it, I'd spend the last night in Haarlem. A wonderful city BTW.
Edit: are you also saying that the bank business will take about 2h? That's the way I read your post.
Trains go to Haarlem changing trains in Den Haag. There is a connection every half hour in the morning.
