Rick recommends the 30 minute bus ride from Florence. I also find on Trainline a 12 minute train. Anyone know of this and of the downside to using it. I admit I do not see a station in Fiesole. I am not seeing this mentioned in other posts but I am also not sure I looked properly. Thanks

We took the bus ride in 2023. It was a great ride. I believe we disembarked near a gelato stop then walked around. Caught the return bus just down the street from where we disembarked.

I think you will find that the actual train station name is Fiesole-Caldine, which is a couple of miles from the hill town of Fiesole.

The bus is easy.
It goes up a lovely winding road.
Be sure to find the way to walk up side streets to see the all encompassing view of Florence from above.
Any local can show you where to go.
