Can anyone give me advice about getting from Cairo to Tel Aviv? I know you can not get a direct flight. Stops in Amman seem to have long layovers. Should you take a taxi to the Israel border, get another taxi and go to Tel Aviv?
It's easier to fly to Athens & then get a flight into Tel Aviv.
Thank you Bob!
Air Sinai flies a daily nonstop between Cairo and Tel Aviv.
The airline is owned by Egyptair. It has one airplane with no markings. (I've seen it at TLV.) It only flies between Cairo and Tel Aviv.
You can't book the flight on Egyptair's website and Air Sinai doesn't have its own. You will probably have to use a travel agent.
Thank you for the information!
www.skyscanner.com is good for one-way flights and fares in Europe. It shows a lot of alternatives, none of them non-stop. The previous poster's suggestion didn't come up, but that's not a criticism.
Royal Jordanian and Turkish would be my alternatives among more familiar airlines.
Thank you for the information on skyscanner.com. I didn't realize it is so difficult (and expensive) to arrange the travel.
There is no reasonable overland route. The only place you can cross the border is at Taba/Eilat which would require a 6 hour drive across the Sinai to the border, then another 5 hour drive to Tel Aviv.
Presumably you need an open-jaw ticket from home to Cairo and from Tel Aviv to home. The easiest would be to fly on either Royal Jordanian or Turkish Air, since both carriers fly to Cairo and Tel Aviv.
To get between Cairo and Tel Aviv, you can take either Air Sinai (through a travel agent) or via Istanbul or Amman on the other two airlines.
Thank you Chani.
