I tend to get a bit obsessive in my travel planning, but I did one thing that was a big help. I went to the DB Bahn website and printed out every stop, and the corresponding time, for each of our trips. Stations weren't always announced and I couldn't always understand them when they were, so this gave me a safety net to be sure I knew where I was and when I needed to get off. Thanks again to everyone who helped get me moving!
Nancy I did the same thing for our 8 weeks. Printed out the timetables for our travel days in advance of leaving home.
Had 4 small report binders with copy of the home page where we were staying along with the directions from train stations. And the timetables with the "details". We had our Eurail Passes but that way we could decide which train we wanted to take on a given day.
If necessary, we made our seat reservations upon our arrival in the city for our departure.
Being organized and obsessive has its dividends.
By have the timetables with the "details" listing the station stops one knows when to get everything ready and stand by the door.
