We are trying to make reservations for the train from Paris to Mont St. Michel, The Sncf site keeps reverting to French, even when we click the English symbol?? We wanted to get the Prem's rates, which are cheaper. If we can't do it on that site we are going to use Railpass, which is a little more expensive. Has anyone gone through Railpass???
Wanted to make sure it was a ligitimate site and to see if anyone has used it? We need to book these ASAP...As always, thank you for your feedback!
Here is a link to the first step in getting to the old SNCF booking page in English: SNCF. You'll get a page with the heading "Document non trouvé." Click on the British flag icon. Wait for the page to re-set. It will look like nothing has changed. Click on the train icon at the top of the page. If you get a page in French, click on the "Reservation billet train" link. Finally you should get a booking page with the heading in French but the rest of the page in English.
Leave France as the default country and do NOT choose cancellation insurance.
Have you thought about calling the RS office? They have a number of folks there who are VERY well-versed in helping with train travel. Give them a try....
I agree with Jeff. We've booked and/or planned our entire trip through Rail Europe. The website is easy to navigate and if you're really stuck, you can contact them by email or their call in Helpdesk.
It's your money use Raileuope if you want, but their fares can be over a hundred dollars more than fares quoted on the national rail sites.
And RailEurope doesn't offer tickets for all trains. They don't even list trains for which they don't sell tickets.
Thank you all for your comments and assistance. We were able to get our tickets through the SNCF site, which definitely saved us money with Prem's. Thanks!
