French Bee airlines

Hi. Just checking to see if anyone has heard of or had experience with this airlines. My Son was telling us about it. I think it’s fairly new.

Thanks

Yes, I've heard about them. They are fairly new, have only been around for five years. They are a low cost airline specializing in long haul domestic French routes. But they also fly to New York, and one of their longer routes make a stop in San Fransisco.

My son and his 3 friends booked tickets on FB in Jan of this year for a June 2021 trip. Two days before leaving, FB cancelled their flights going and coming. They had to scramble to get 4 tickets on another airline and had to pay a lot more because it was last minute.

We thought oh, ok, because of Covid and France just opening to Americans, FB was doing their best in a difficult situation and had no choice but to cancel.

Which is why we booked tickets on FB in June 2021 for our Oct trip to Paris (where we are now). We thought by Oct they would have their act together.

Two weeks before this trip (left SF on 10/14) FB cancelled our flights going and coming. We had to scramble to get flights on another airline.

We will never book flights with FB ever again.

Good to know, Susan. French Bee did look attractive at the low prices, but not if the scheduled flights don't fly.

Yes, their prices are very enticing. And with Norwegian Air (which we loved) no longer flying from the US, we thought FB could be a good alternative. What’s that saying? Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me…

Oh Susan that is so interesting (in an AGGRAVATING AND DISAPPOINTING way). When I saw the question, I immediately thought of your son. I had no idea they had cancelled on both him and his friends and you !!! Important warning.

Hi Kim, it was really aggravating and disappointing. Perfect words to describe it.

French Bee's planes have a HIGH DENSITY configuration.

Normal a330 planes are configured as 2-4-2, for 8 seats per row. French Bee has 3-3-3 = 9.
Their a350s are 3-4-3 where the regular configuration is 3-3-3

I really appreciate everyone’s comments. We too were fans of Norwegian Air - until they refused to refund our money! Hoping French Bee would fill that spot. Doesn’t sound like it will.

Thank you.

Thanks for the warnings! We will scratch FB off of our dwindling (nonexistent?) list of budget airlines SFO to ?

I think that French Bee code shares with Air Caraibes, so watch out for them as well.
