I have a "RE" train booked from Frankfurt connecting in Mannheim to the TGV into Paris. I know my TGV is reserved and I can only take that train. My question, is can I take any RE train into Mannheim? I have the 12:06 train on my reservation (no seat assignment) but there are also trains at 11:06 and 11:34 that I would like to take if possible, depending on when my plane arrives in Frankfurt.

It depends on the terms of the ticket you purchased. I tried looking in the DB app, but I’m not seeing RE trains from the airport to Paris via Mannheim. Are you going from the main train station in Frankfurt?

Main station. Also, I booked it on the DB app/website if that helps or makes a difference? It also looks like I bought a "Sparpreis" type of ticket, which I think means I might be stuck with the 12:06pm departure unless that train is late, in which case I could take the 11:34 so as to not miss my TGV connection in Mannheim. Does this sound correct?
