Frankfurt Terminal 1 Car Rental Counters

I'm traveling to Frankfurt via Lufthansa and have received two very favorable rental rates from Thrifty & Dollar. However, when Google Map the locations, it appears they are not in Terminal 1 or 2; rather, maybe offsite. As I'm traveling w/small children, I don't really want to go through the hassle of getting on a bus to a satellite location.

Does anyone here know if either of these two rental companies are actually located in the the terminal (1 or 2)? Thanks so much to any replies!

Have you also tried Lufthansa site and pick car? They also have good rates if you have Lufthansa. We are also flying from Seattle to Frankfurt. I believe Sixt is in terminal.

This should help:

While this may not make any difference or you have to do it this way, be aware that you are paying a 19% tax just for picking up the car at the airport (and at rail stations).

We had a good experience renting from thrifty at FRA last fall. While they are not in airport terminal they arent far away - maybe it took 10minutes +or- on their shuttle bus which runs every few minutes.

I would not risk advice from other travelers. Call the toll free phone number for each auto agency and talk with an agent about your question.

John - we flew into Frankfurt this past March from Atlanta (I think we were in terminal one and we were on Lufthansa also) and rented a car from Hertz. We did not have to take a shuttle bus. Once we walked out of the customs area with our baggage we turned left, walked into the next building, there was a covered area that had stairs going down to a parking area in between the buildings, and the rental counter was on the right. I do remember other rental agencies but I don't remember which ones. Once we finished all the paperwork, we went back out to the area between the buildings and went down the escalator, turned left and walked towards the end of the hallway and out the door to find our rental car. We were never outside in the elements. Don't forget that if you are a member of AAA, you can use your discount with Hertz for a car in Germany, we did. I also called the Hertz counter at the Frankfurt airport before we left and they were very helpful in answering my questions. Let me know if you have other questions.
