Frankfurt Connection Question

Just checked on our return flight from Nice to PDX and it has been changed so we have only a one hour layover in Frankfurt. We arrive on Lufthansa and fly to Houston on Continental. Is one hour enough time to make this connection??

Will, I had a one hour connection last year in Frankfurt, and also wondered if that would be sufficient time. I questioned both the Travel Agent before departure, as well as the Flight Attendant prior to landing and was told that was a "legal connection". The Flight Attendant suggested not "stopping for coffee". I found that I was at the departure gate for my connecting flight in 20-minutes! One thing that probably helped a lot in my case, was the fact that I was seated near the front of the plane so was able to make a "quick exit" on arrival in Frankfurt. If I had been seated at the back, I'm sure there would have been a huge queue so that may have been a problem. Good luck and happy travels!

I think it really depends on if you need to go through customs or if you can stay in the same terminal. Last summer we came from the States with a change in Frankfurt to Stuttgart. We didn't make our connection. We were ticketed for just over an hour for the connection. We RAN frantically, but got stuck in the security line after the shuttle from the other terminal. It was a regional holiday and the airport was backed up so we missed the flight. Luckily there was another flight 3 hours later that we were able to be booked on. You might do some research ahead of time just in case you have to find another option, you'll know what is scheduled next.

As far as I can tell from the Frankfurt airport website, Lufthansa flights from Nice come into Concourse A and the Continental flight to Houston will leave on Concourse B. We made a one hour Concourse A to Concourse B connection in January, 2002. But it was tight. Of course that was right after 9/11, and security was tight (we went through security three time between Concourse A and the gate on B, including US security at the gate. Hint, there is a tunnel connecting Concourses A and B, about half way out A (See map at www.frankfurt-airport.com/content/frankfurt_airport/en/misc/container/overview/jcr:content.file/file.pdf). What is wrong with this $#*! Bulletin Board Code?! Half the time it won't embed a link.
