does the frankfurt card cover travel from frankfurt hbf to mainz? what are my options?
Did you find this on a website? Or did someone tell you about it?
Cities often have passes that give you free or reduced price entry to attractions as well as free use of the transit in that city. If this is the kind of "Frankfurt pass" to which you refer, it probably only covers the downtown part of Frankfurt, zone 50 of the RMV (Rhein-Main-Verkehrverbund).
The RMV also sells a series of Tageskarten (Day tickets) priced according to the zones they cover. You can purchase a Preisstufe 5 (price level 5) Tageskarte to cover unlimited travel in Frankfurt downtown region (zone 50) and Mainz/Wiesbaden (zone 65) as well as 10 surrounding zones for €13,50 pP.
A Tageskarte for unlimited travel in only the downtown Frankfurt area (zone 50) would cost €5,60.
Could you define better what you mean by frankfurt pass. This could be any number of things, so if you tell me what kind of pass your are looking at, I can help you out.

Did you mean this Frankfurt City Card that allows unlimited transportation for 1 or 2 days in, including out to the airport and also 50% off admission in 21 museums?
