Rick Steves guidebook claims there is a baggage check to store luggage for several days at the Frankfurt airport. Has anyone used this service before? Are my bags secure? Do you know where it is located in the airport?
Having just spent several hours in the Frankfurt Airport, I was able to observe many things. Among them: 1) (many) Germans are fastidious people who take their jobs seriously, and 2) when serious looking policemen walk around an airport with H&K MP5 automatic weapons, crime tends to be on the low side.
That said, of all the airports I've been through (and it has been many), I would have felt comfortable bringing the Crown Jewels through Frankfurt.
Here is some information from the Frankfurt Airport website regarding left luggage:

Hope this helps!
It's on the ground floor on your right as you exit from arrivals.
You get an automated receipt for your bag, it looks like a mini boarding pass - it's 100% safe.
Just don't lose that receipt.
