France-Switzerland-Italy rail travel

My husband and I will be traveling through Europe in May. We will be traveling from Paris to Interlaken, Interlaken to Florence & Florence to Rome. We're planning on a total of 3-6 days of rail travel. As the Eurail Select Pass does not include France, what would be the best way to book this?

You can do better than railpasses just buying discount tickets in advance on the national rail sites. Buy Paris to Interlaken Ost, and Interlaken to Milan on the Swiss rail site, SBB.ch. SpecialmOffer prices on the international legs of the journey appear 90 days in advance. From Interlaken to Milan, compare prices going via Spiez ( the faster route) and Zurichnor Luzern ( takes a bit longer but more scenic, and in my experience the best discounts are offered for this route). The Paris to Interlaken ticket will be one you can print. You will have to pick up the ticket to Milan in Switzerland at a station. Then buy Milan to Florence and Florence to Rome on Trenitalia. Look now for Soper Wconomy fares which are as low as 9 euros.
