Hey Everyone, We have been researching the metro in Paris and it really looks like you can get everywhere in the main parts of the city between 30-50 minutes via metro. Is this pretty realistic?? We're heading there with a fun travel club that's free to join and are using the metro in Paris for this trip. Your answer is appreciated and if you want to learn more about the group the site is: http://photoflytravel.com/ Thanks, Henry
Those travel times are if you're going to the city center from the outskirts. 30 mins should get you most anywhere - including a 'correspondance' or two!
If you don't have it, the official site for Paris regional transport, including the Metro, is http://www.ratp.fr/en/ratp/c_5000/accueil/ It has plenty of information for tourists including routes and estimated times. When those routes involve changing trains or walking the estimates are probably optimistic but still worthwhile. Surface buses, which use the same tickets but do not offer transfers, can be an native for freelance sightseeing. Access to this site through a small laptop and WiFi or smart phone technology is valuable for day-to-day plans.
For a personal point of view, along with photos of main train stations, go to www.parisbytrain.com
hi, i dont remember any exact times, but i usually gave myself about 30 minutes to 1 hour to get from my hotel (near the eiffel tower) to where i was going. that way i could wander around and if it was the AM, get my daily dose of coffee and fresh croissant. also, i just loved their subways. happy trails.
Thanks so much for all the helpful tips guys!!!
