Our party of 3 adults will spend three weeks (Sept 8th-29th) traveling by train from Budapest(-5 nights) >Krakow(-3 nights) >Vienna(-4 nights) >Ljubljana/LakeBled(-3 nights) >Rijeka/Plitvice/Zagreb(-3 nights) >return to Budapest(-1 night)...we are planning on P2P tickets including one 3-person sleeper for overnite train BUD>KRK. The rest are early AM or morning trains (car rentals in Slovenia and Croatia to supplement) Can we use credit card for these train ticket purchases in Hungary, Poland, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia? Do they prefer their local currency? We plan to purchase each of these x 3 persons of course. I can't seem to get purchase prices on the local websites like Elvira, and polrail...traveling thru Germany was so much easier! Any insight would be helpful. Only traveled by train one time from Berlin to Prague. Bought that ticket on Deutsche Bahn...Thank you for being available for these novice travel questions.

I haven't traveled to some of the locations you are going. Generally, a credit card is the best way to buy your train tickets so the answer probably is yes.

Hopefully someone else can give you a more certain answer.
