The German rail company that carries 2 billion passengers every year has signed a deal with Coca Cola. From now on on board all trains as well as in the lounges etc. Coke, Diet Coke and Coke Zero will replace the various Pepsi drinks. DB German Rail serves an average of 1.4 million liters (about 370,000 gallons) of cola each year.
Wow. Talk about your Global Dominance. Coke uber alles, eh? Interesting factoid - thanks! :D
As long as they still serve beer, I couldn't care less...
I worry because I own a large chunk of Pepsi stock which historically has out performed Coke.
I'm with Tom. As long as they still serve beer, who cares. I really don't like soft drinks anymore. It's probably been at least a decade or two since the last time I drank a cola. But of the two, I definitely prefer Coke. What used to irritate me so much, probably why I've learned to hate Pepsi, is all of the fast food places that were "locked up" by Pepsi. I used to go in one and order a Coke, and when they told me they only had Pepsi, I'd cancel the order and drink water instead.
If they start replacing the European beers with Coors, Miller, Bud, et al., I'll be sad.
Well, the best policy would be to stop selling alcohol on trains, it sends the wrong message that it is ok to have booze onboard, and then some teenagers Sat. night on regional trains associate that with "it is ok to buy a bottle of vodka and become rowdy on a 1am train". So it would be better to take alcohol out of trains IMO.
Another vote for booze off the trains unless one is in the dining car. It is unbelievably awful sometimes. Especially on soccer match days. As to drinks, forget the sodas, all I want is coffee!
