For those Living in Europe - Wizz Air to Offer Travel Passes

Wizz Air is offering now offering unlimited travel passes for an annual subscription rate of €599 per year. per Travel & Leisure. That might be a good deal for those who use one of their hubs regularly.

Sorry, I tried 3 times but cannot seem to add the link, but here's the short version:

For a very limited time, the program is only €499 (approximately $537) per year, and the price jumps to €599 (approximately $657) from August 16, 2024. Travelers can begin using their flight pass for flights after September 25, 2024. While the program has the subscription fee, the flights are technically not free. Travelers are charged a small €10 (approximately $11) fee for each flight segment they book, according to the program's terms.

The airline shared they have capped the amount of memberships they will sell at 10,000 for the initial phase.

And its limited by departure airport I believe. Apparently you buy unlimited departures from one airport. Some departure airports are already sold out. I also read that you have to book 3 days prior and there is no seat guarantee. In other words, yoiu might not get on the flight. So you are paying for free standby. And there is a 9 euro processing fee per ticket AND what they are selling is their cheapest fare.

By the time you add up all the "buts" not sure its worth it. The basic fare from here to Podgorica is only about 30 euro depending on the date. So i would have to go 15 or 20 times to recoop the fare.

But its a start on a really good idea. Lets see if they work out the bugs and it becomes more widely viable.

Sorry about that. I did not delve that deep into before posting since it does not apply to me. Clearly some math is involved.

Yes, but it is good information and something to watch. Sometimes these things work and the issues get resolved. I would love it under the right circumstances.
