Need information regarding Lufthansa's policy on flying with medical equipment. Does a C Pap machine count as a passenger's one allowable carry-on item? Is a passenger allowed an additional personal item (purse, backpack)? We are flying economy class and have had difficulty finding this information on Lufthansa's website or in talking to customer service. Thanks for your help.
You'll be allowed the c-pap, plus your carry on, and one personal item, so three total. Stick your prescription in the c-pap case to prove it's a medical device--as if everybody couldn't tell that already--but just to make it more official.
I know that is the usual policy for US flights, but was not sure for European carriers. Thank you for the information.
Norwegian Airlines allowed me to carry on my (third) bag with the cpap. In neither Oakland nor Orly at the ticket counter was I even asked to open the bag.
As for Lufthansa ... I might want to call customer service again and ask to speak with a supervisor.
