Flying to Rome or Milan

My son is getting married on Sept. 14th and my tour starts in Varenna Sept. 18th. I live close to Seattle and can leave on the morning of the 16th or the evening of the 15th. Should I fly to Rome or Milan? I don't know how long it takes and which airlines fly to Italy from Seattle?

It's six hours by train from Rome to Varenna (one change in Milan). It's one hour from Milan to Varenna.

For your airline choices go to a site like expedia.com.

I think Lufthansa has started a new flight from Seattle to Frankfurt with a quick easy hop over to Milan. Try Kayak.com for comparable airfares.
