Hello, I'm looking to travel to Helsinki to visit family over Christmas and New Years and have been very excited to go, I'm a college student and therefore I'm on a tight budget. Anyways the flight prices have been worrying me because I've been watching them for the past couple months and they haven't dropped at all. Now I had found prices all the way down in the $900 range a few months back and decided after a lot of reading to sit on it (kicking myself) and wait until I got closer to the 4-month mark for cheaper flight prices. But they've only taken a $300 bump upwards and I'm wondering if I ought to just settle now and take the hit or wait and see for a bit more. I realize it's probably a gamble either way but I'm hoping there might be some inside knowledge or experience which somebody could clue me in on...

Is it really too soon to buy? I don't know anything as this is my first time booking but it seems like all the information I've read says 4 months out is the best time. But if you say it's too early that would be great news and a bit of a relief!

I think it is too soon to buy. The fall and winter sales will only start once summer is over. I would guess that by mid Sept you will start to see fall sale prices. That said, you are the one traveling and need to feel comfortable waiting.
