Flying to Croatia while in Europe - college student

I need help asap!

I'm flying into London this spring from California. Now my plan is to stay 2 days in London, shoot over to Paris or Barcelona for 2 days and then fly to Zagreb, Croatia since my return flight is from there and I have family there as well.

I checked on a few airlines (Ryan Air, WizzAir, EasyJet) and none of them fly to Croatia. I was even thinking of flying into Italy and then to Croatia, but no such luck.

Help me out here please. Has anybody done a similar route? What's the best plan here and most affordable since I am a college student.

Thanks a lot.

Hmm. The key word here is "affordable," and when we were trying to get into and out of Croatia from another country in Europe we were dismayed to see how expensive one-way tickets were.

BUT, is there any way you could reverse your trip at the beginning, starting in Paris or wherever and then going to London? I think Wizz Air has somewhat reasonable flights available by flying out of Luton.

Something I found useful when going through a similar situation for our trip was to go to the Zagreb Airport Wikipedia entry to see which airlines flew out of Zagreb and to where, and work it backwards. Of course, I'm not suggesting Wikipedia is 100% accurate all of the time...

Steve,....I believe the question involved flying to Zagreb from either Paris or Barcelona....and no discount airline covers those routes.

If you'd checked the fares, you would see that Croatia airlines, as the national flag carrier, is indeed a full-service airline, at least as far as its prices from Paris to Zagreb are concerned.
Laris, you may want to check one of the search engines like kayak.com to see what the best deal might be to any of those cities. Right now, from Paris, your best offer in mid-May seems to be Lufthansa at about $230 round trip (throw away the return half), and about the same from Barcelona. One-way fares are much more expensive than a round trip to Zagreb.

Yeah, thanks a lot everyone for your input and the helpful suggestions.

I don't really care where I fly in in Croatia, doesn't have to be to Zagreb but it's also frustrating shelling out $200+ for a one way trip :(

I'm thinking of getting the Eurostar from london to paris and back to london and then flying from London into Zagreb with wizzair.

Not sure what I'm going to do here.

A follow up question is....is it better to get a euro rail pass for 2-3 countries and that way I can go on a train from barcelona straight into Zagreb.
