Flying from Venice's Treviso airport - questions...

Considering flying to Barcelona on budget-airline Rynair from Venice's nearby Treviso airport (30 minutes by train from Santa Lucia station).

Anyone familiar with this airport know how close the Treviso train station is to the airport, how to get to the airport from the station how crowded the airport is, how long I'll need to be at the airport in advance, etc?

There is bus service from Treviso to Venice timed to the arrival and departure of planes.

Here is the arrival schedule. The buses depart 20 min after the last linked flight arrives; the trip takes 1hr 10 min.

Here is the departure schedule. Buses leave Maestre 2½ hr before the first linked flight departs.

Marshall - as far as how early to be at the airport, check with Ryanair directly, just before your flight. They change ti, and are quite strict about it, and will charge fees, or not let you board if you miss their time. Just keep an eye on it. :)

Getting out to the airport is kind of a pain - but usually worth ti pricewise. They bus Lee describes is nice enough.

Tha aiport is smallish and not generally crowded.

Thanks for the responses. In the past 24 hours I have "finalized" our itinerary, and have decided to travel exclusively by train, even though the expense may be greater.

In this instance, I am taking the Ellipsos tren hotel to Barcelona from Milano, instead of flying. We are looking at it as an "experience," with the grand classe sleeper berths that include dinner and breakfast in the dining car (we've never eaten in an actual dining car - just food from the bistro car at our seats in the past).

In addition, the train stations are easier to get to and deal with.

Whenever I travel by train it reminds me how much I dislike air travel, so I'm going to stick to the rails while in Europe.

Thanks again.
